A fix is available in HTTP::Body version 1.23_01. Users should upgrade to version 1.23_01 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
HTTP::Body versions before 1.23_01 for Perl contain a vulnerability where inefficient regular expression handling in chunked request body parsing can cause CPU exhaustion. This occurs due to quadratic regex backtracking when processing chunk-size lines without a preceding carriage return before a line feed. A remote attacker can exploit this by sending specially crafted chunked request bodies, leading to high CPU usage in affected applications.
