AI-suggested

This vulnerability is fixed in Vaultwarden version 1.37.0. Users should upgrade to version 1.37.0 or later to remediate this issue. Instances with internal icon downloading enabled are affected and should prioritize applying this update. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

CVE-2026-116678 is a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Vaultwarden versions prior to 1.37.0. The flaw arises because the icon downloader does not properly apply host-blocking checks to second-stage favicon URLs parsed from attacker-controlled HTML, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to cause the server to make requests to internal or loopback IP addresses. This can expose internal responses or reveal network reachability information. The issue is fixed in version 1.37.0.
