Until a fix is available, restrict GiveWP Manager role assignments to trusted users only and avoid importing JSON settings from untrusted sources. Monitor vendor communications for official fixes.

Description

GiveWP – Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform for WordPress versions up to 4.19.1 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability via improper privilege management. Authenticated users with the GiveWP Manager role or higher can exploit flaws in role assignment during donor registration, potentially assigning elevated roles including Administrator to new donor accounts. This occurs due to insufficient sanitization in settings import and save functions.
