AI-suggested

Upgrade labstack echo to version 4.15.2 or later, or 5.1.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix validates the scheme used in redirects. If upgrading is not immediately possible, avoid using redirect middleware that relies on Context.Scheme with untrusted forwarded scheme headers.

Description

CVE-2026-118658 is an open redirect vulnerability in the labstack echo Go web framework. Versions prior to 4.15.2 and 5.1.1 allow an attacker to control the scheme used in redirects by manipulating certain forwarded scheme headers. This can lead to redirects using arbitrary URI schemes. The issue affects redirect middleware that uses Context.Scheme without validating the scheme. HTTPS-specific redirects are not affected. The vulnerability is fixed in versions 4.15.2 and 5.1.1.
