Technical Analysis

The Fluent Forms WordPress plugin versions prior to 6.2.1 do not properly verify that a user owns a subscription before processing a cancellation request. This authorization bypass (CWE-639) enables authenticated users with low privileges to cancel subscriptions of other users. The vulnerability requires network access and low privileges, with high attack complexity and no user interaction needed. The impact is limited to integrity, with no confidentiality or availability impact reported.

Potential Impact

An attacker with a low-privilege authenticated account can cancel subscriptions of other users without proper authorization. This impacts the integrity of subscription management but does not affect confidentiality or availability. There are no known exploits in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation level has been confirmed yet. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict low-privilege user capabilities related to subscription management if possible.
