Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-11905 is a CWE-862 Missing Authorization vulnerability in the Elementor Website Builder WordPress plugin (versions <=4.2.3). It allows authenticated users with contributor or higher privileges to extract sensitive data such as full post content and plaintext post passwords of private, draft, pending, and future posts belonging to any author. The vulnerability is triggered through the 'keys_conversion_map' parameter. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 4.3, indicating a medium severity with network attack vector, low attack complexity, and requiring low privileges but no user interaction.

Potential Impact

This exposure affects posts from any author, including high-privilege users like administrators and editors. The confidentiality of sensitive content is compromised, but integrity and availability are not impacted.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation is currently documented. Users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates. Until a fix is released, restrict contributor-level access to trusted users only and consider additional access controls or monitoring to limit exposure.
