AI-suggested
Upgrade pypdf to version 6.21.3 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated. Users should ensure they do not use affected versions in environments where untrusted PDF inputs are processed.
Description
A vulnerability in pypdf versions prior to 6.21.3 allows uncontrolled resource consumption due to excessive memory use when strict mode processes a crafted invalid PDF dictionary. Nested parsing failures cause repeated exception text to accumulate in error messages, amplifying a small malformed dictionary into very large error outputs. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.3.
