Update draw.io Desktop to version 31.5.2 or later, where this untrusted search path issue is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory. Users should avoid opening .drawio files from untrusted directories until patched.

Description

CVE-2026-119333 is an untrusted search path vulnerability in draw.io Desktop (Electron build) on Windows prior to version 31.5.2. The application launched system executables powershell and attrib by bare name from its main script, allowing an attacker to place malicious executables in the current working directory. Opening a .drawio file from File Explorer in a directory containing attacker-controlled powershell.bat or attrib.exe could lead to code execution. This issue is fixed in version 31.5.2.
