Until a fix is available, restrict access to phpMyAdmin interfaces, monitor for suspicious session activity, and consider additional network-level protections to reduce risk.
Description
CVE-2026-119429 is a vulnerability in phpMyAdmin up to version 5.2.3 that allows authenticated attackers to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA). By sending a specially crafted request to the /config/set endpoint with a null JSON value for the 2FA key, an attacker with a hijacked session can remove 2FA protection. This causes subsequent logins to require only the MySQL password, weakening account security.
