AI-suggested

Users should monitor IBM's advisories for updates and consider restricting access to the local HTTP service or implementing network-level controls to limit exposure. Since the vulnerability involves cross-origin requests, disabling or tightening CORS policies where possible may reduce risk.

Description

IBM Aspera Connect versions 1.6.1 through 4.2.19 contain a vulnerability due to missing authentication and overly permissive cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) policies in the local HTTP service. This flaw allows a remote attacker to perform unauthorized cross-origin requests by tricking a user into visiting a malicious web page, potentially leading to disclosure of sensitive information and modification of host trust configurations.
