AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, avoid processing untrusted MP4 or MOV files that could exploit this vulnerability.

Description

L-SMASH versions up to 2.14.5 have a heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the functions isom_read_hdlr() and isom_read_dref_entry() caused by oversized box sizes in MP4 or MOV files. Maliciously crafted files can declare hdlr or url box sizes larger than the remaining data, leading to heap corruption and application crashes.
