AI-suggested

Upgrade to CGI version 5.00 or later, where this issue has been fixed. Since the vulnerability is addressed in version 5.00, applying this official fix is the recommended remediation.

Description

CGI versions prior to 5.00 for Perl contain active debug code that is triggered when an unrecognized REQUEST_METHOD is received. Specifically, for methods like OPTIONS, the software enters an offline debugging mode by default, using command line arguments to build parameters and path_info, which could lead to unintended behavior.
