Until a fix is available, restrict Manage station profile permissions to trusted users only to mitigate risk.

Description

CVE-2026-121427 is a vulnerability in AzuraCast up to version 0.23.8 where the application fails to properly restrict modification of the frontend_config.custom_config setting via the PUT /station/{id}/profile/edit endpoint. This allows authenticated users with Manage station profile permission, but without Manage station broadcasting permission, to inject arbitrary configuration directives into the Shoutcast sc_serv.conf file, including overriding sensitive settings such as adminpassword, password, and portbase. This can lead to hijacking of the station's Shoutcast frontend.
