AI-suggested

Red Hat has published an advisory for CVE-2026-121621 but has not yet confirmed the availability of a fix. Users should monitor the Red Hat advisory page for updates and apply patches once released. Until a fix is available, restrict the ability to configure proxy URLs in SSH Git repositories to trusted users only to reduce the risk of exploitation.

Description

CVE-2026-121621 is a command injection vulnerability in Argo CD Image Updater used by Red Hat OpenShift GitOps. It occurs because a proxy URL configured on an SSH Git repository is passed unsanitized into a shell-interpreted SSH command. An attacker who can set a malicious proxy value may inject shell metacharacters to execute arbitrary commands and access credentials within the Image Updater process context.
