AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, users should avoid loading untrusted or crafted model dataset files containing oversized tokens in bbcore_mech.dat, globals.dat, or files.dat with nrniv-core.

Description

NEURON (CoreNEURON) versions up to 9.0.2 contain a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability. This flaw arises when attackers supply excessively long tokens in model dataset files such as bbcore_mech.dat, globals.dat, or files.dat loaded by nrniv-core. Exploiting this can cause stack memory corruption and crash the process.
