AI-suggested

Upgrade accel-ppp to version 1.15.0 or later, where this heap buffer overflow vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.

Description

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in accel-ppp versions prior to 1.15.0 in the tcp, syslog, and pgsql log targets. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote peers within the client IP range to send crafted L2TP Start-Control-Connection-Request messages with many string AVPs when verbose logging is enabled, causing fixed heap buffers to overflow. This can corrupt heap memory and crash the accel-ppp daemon.
