AI-suggested

Upgrade Vikunja to version 2.7.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the available data.

Description

Vikunja versions prior to 2.7.1 contain a vulnerability that allows authenticated users to exhaust server memory by uploading multiple concurrent images. The flaw arises from uncontrolled resource consumption during the decoding of highly compressible PNG images, which can reach up to 50 megapixels each. This can cause the API process to experience memory pressure or be terminated by the operating system due to out-of-memory conditions.
