AI-suggested

Upgrade Vikunja to version 2.7.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix addresses the resource exhaustion issue.

Description

Vikunja versions before 2.7.1 have a denial of service vulnerability where authenticated users can exhaust API process memory by uploading large WeKan or vikunja-file imports without limits on item count. This can cause out-of-memory (OOM) conditions and crash the instance.
