AI-suggested
Users should restrict AI token distribution to trusted parties and monitor for suspicious subtitle file modifications. Since the vulnerability requires a valid AI token, controlling token issuance and usage is critical. Check the vendor advisory for updates on patches or official remediation guidance.
Description
WWBN AVideo versions up to 29.7.0 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the plugin/AI/receiveAsync.json.php component. This flaw allows any user with a valid AI token to write arbitrary .vtt subtitle files by injecting directory traversal sequences into the unsanitized response[lang] parameter. Exploitation involves sending a type=translation request with a crafted lang value to place attacker-controlled subtitle files in the webroot or overwrite other users' subtitle files.
