Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-12583 is a deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability (CWE-502) in the Newsletters WordPress plugin versions prior to 4.15. The plugin does not properly validate or restrict deserialization of input stored through a public form, enabling unauthenticated attackers to inject crafted PHP objects. Using a property-oriented gadget chain bundled with the plugin, attackers can write arbitrary files and execute code on the server, compromising the affected system.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to achieve remote code execution on the server hosting the vulnerable Newsletters plugin. This can lead to full system compromise, data theft, or further malicious activity.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or patch information is currently available. Until a patch is released, restrict access to the vulnerable plugin or disable it if possible to prevent exploitation.
