Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-706) in Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager affects versions 2026.2.5 through 2026.2.11. The issue arises from improper handling of link resolution by display name in the custom PowerShell VPN editor. An attacker who is authenticated and has write access to a shared workspace can create a display name collision with an existing VPN script link, causing the application to execute a PowerShell script under the context of another user. This could lead to unauthorized script execution within the affected environment.

Potential Impact

The impact of this vulnerability is unauthorized execution of PowerShell scripts in the context of another user, which could lead to privilege escalation or unauthorized actions within the shared workspace. The attacker must have authenticated access with write permissions to the shared workspace to exploit this issue. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or remediation level has been published by the vendor at this time. Until a patch is available, limit write access to shared workspaces to trusted users only to reduce the risk of exploitation.
