CVE-2026-13600: CWE-287 Improper Authentication in AutoNetTV Relay

0
Critical
Published: 08/10/2026 (08/10/2026, 09:31:21 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Product: AutoNetTV Relay

Description

The AutoNetTV Relay WordPress plugin before 3.0.14 does not perform any capability or authentication check before setting a WordPress administrator authentication cookie during its scheduled content-synchronization task. On server configurations where the scheduled task executes before the HTTP response is committed, an unauthenticated attacker who triggers the due task can receive the administrator's session cookie and gain administrator access without credentials.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-13600 describes an improper authentication vulnerability (CWE-287) in the AutoNetTV Relay WordPress plugin versions prior to 3.0.14. The plugin does not verify user capabilities or authentication status before setting a WordPress administrator authentication cookie during its scheduled content synchronization task. On servers where this scheduled task runs before the HTTP response is committed, an unauthenticated attacker can trigger the task and receive the administrator's session cookie, enabling unauthorized administrator access.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can gain administrator-level access to the WordPress site by triggering the scheduled content synchronization task, which sets the administrator authentication cookie without proper checks. This compromises site integrity and control, allowing full administrative actions without valid credentials.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the scheduled task trigger and monitor for unusual activity related to content synchronization. Avoid running the plugin on server configurations that execute the scheduled task before the HTTP response is committed, if possible.
