Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: totalbounty
Product: Widget Logic Visual

Description

The Widget Logic Visual plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 1.52 via the widget_logic_visual_check_visibility function. This is due to missing capability check and nonce verification on the widget-logic-update-conditional-tags AJAX action combined with insufficient sanitization of the 'nwlv[cod-tag]' parameter before storage and subsequent use in an eval() call. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to execute code on the server.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-14158 is a remote code execution vulnerability in the Widget Logic Visual WordPress plugin. The vulnerability exists due to the widget_logic_visual_check_visibility function lacking proper capability checks and nonce verification on the widget-logic-update-conditional-tags AJAX action. Additionally, the 'nwlv[cod-tag]' parameter is insufficiently sanitized before being stored and subsequently used in an eval() call. This combination allows authenticated attackers with low privileges (subscriber-level and above) to execute arbitrary code on the server, leading to full compromise.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user with subscriber-level privileges or higher to execute arbitrary code on the server, potentially leading to full system compromise, data theft, or service disruption. The CVSS score of 8.8 reflects high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to trusted users only and consider disabling the plugin if possible to prevent exploitation.
