Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-125) in IBM DataPower Gateway versions 10.5.0.0 to 10.5.0.22, 10.6.0.0 to 10.6.0.10, 10.6.1 to 10.6.6, and 11.0.0.0 to 11.0.0.2 allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition by exploiting a heap-based buffer overflow resulting from an out-of-bounds read. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 8.2, indicating high severity, with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impact limited to availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can cause denial of service on affected IBM DataPower Gateway systems by triggering a heap-based buffer overflow. Confidentiality and integrity impacts are not indicated. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation details are provided in the input data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the IBM vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider limiting exposure of affected systems to untrusted networks to reduce risk.
