Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-14549 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Ray Enterprise Translation WordPress plugin through version 1.7.3. The plugin fails to verify user capabilities or nonces on a particular AJAX action, enabling any authenticated user, regardless of their role, to modify the site's language configuration by adding or deleting languages. This lack of proper authorization checks can lead to unauthorized administrative changes to the site's language settings.

Potential Impact

Any authenticated user, including low-privileged roles like Subscribers, can manipulate the site's configured languages by adding or deleting them. This could disrupt site functionality or user experience by altering available languages without proper administrative approval.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict authenticated user roles to trusted users only or disable the plugin if possible to prevent exploitation.
