Published: 07/05/2026 (07/05/2026, 07:45:08 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: AD-Security
Product: AD_Miner

Description

AD-Security AD_Miner version 1.9.0 contains a deserialization vulnerability in the Cache Handler component, specifically in the request_a function of ad_miner/scripts/analyse_cache.py. This vulnerability arises from manipulation of the sys.argv[1] argument, allowing local attackers to trigger deserialization. Exploitation requires local access, and no public exploits are known. A fix has been proposed via a pull request but is not yet accepted or officially released.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-14723 is a deserialization vulnerability in AD-Security AD_Miner 1.9.0 affecting the request_a function in the Cache Handler component (ad_miner/scripts/analyse_cache.py). The vulnerability is triggered by manipulation of the sys.argv[1] argument, leading to unsafe deserialization. The attack vector is local, requiring low privileges and no user interaction. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.8 (medium) score. A patch is pending acceptance in a pull request, with no official fix currently available.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows a local attacker to manipulate deserialization in the application, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or other impacts related to unsafe deserialization. However, the attack requires local access and low privileges, limiting the scope and ease of exploitation. No known exploits are currently in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently available. A pull request containing a fix is pending acceptance. Until an official fix is released, restrict local access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious local activity. Check the vendor's advisory or repository for updates regarding the acceptance and release of the fix.
