Technical Analysis
IBM DataPower Gateway versions 10.5.0.0 to 10.5.0.22, 10.6.0.0 to 10.6.0.10, 10.6.1 to 10.6.6, and 11.0.0.0 to 11.0.0.2 contain a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability (CWE-122). This vulnerability could be exploited remotely without privileges or user interaction to execute arbitrary code. The CVSS 3.1 vector indicates network attack vector, high attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, unchanged scope, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to remote code execution, allowing an attacker to fully compromise the affected IBM DataPower Gateway system. This includes potential unauthorized disclosure, modification, or destruction of data and disruption of service.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the IBM vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict network access to the affected systems and monitor for suspicious activity related to this vulnerability.
