Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Pegatron Corp.
Product: Tdelo64.sys

Description

CVE-2026-14960 is a vulnerability in Pegatron Corp.'s Tdelo64.sys driver that improperly exposes privileged hardware access via the \\.\TdeIo device interface. Specifically, IOCTL handlers such as TDE_IOCTL_INDEXIO_READ and TDE_IOCTL_INDEXIO_WRITE allow unprivileged user-mode processes to perform arbitrary hardware I/O port reads and writes without authorization checks. This flaw enables a local attacker to manipulate hardware registers, interfere with firmware interfaces, cause system instability, or establish persistent low-level compromise. The affected version is exactly 02-17-2025. No CVSS score or vendor patch information is currently available.

Technical Analysis

Pegatron Corp.'s Tdelo64.sys driver contains an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) where IOCTL handlers permit unprivileged local users to perform arbitrary hardware I/O port operations through the \\.\TdeIo device interface. This lack of authorization checks allows local attackers to read and write hardware registers, potentially tampering with firmware-related interfaces and causing system instability or persistent compromise. The vulnerability affects version =02-17-2025 of Tdelo64.sys. There is no vendor advisory indicating an official fix or mitigation at this time.

Potential Impact

A local attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to privileged hardware functionality, enabling manipulation of hardware registers and firmware interfaces. This can lead to system instability, potential firmware tampering, and persistent low-level compromise of the affected system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory at https://kb.cert.org/vuls/id/529388 for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict local access to systems running the affected driver version to trusted users only.
