Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-15246 is a vulnerability in the RealHomes Memberships WordPress plugin prior to version 3.1.0. The plugin fails to verify the completion of membership payments and does not validate nonces or user capabilities before assigning paid membership packages. This insufficient verification of data authenticity (CWE-345) and improper access control (CWE-862) enables any authenticated user to escalate their membership status without paying.

Potential Impact

An authenticated user with minimal privileges can bypass payment verification and gain unauthorized access to paid membership packages. This could lead to unauthorized access to premium features or content intended only for paying members. The vulnerability does not impact confidentiality or availability but results in integrity loss due to unauthorized privilege escalation.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since no official fix or patch is indicated in the available data, users should monitor the vendor's announcements for updates. Until a patch is available, consider restricting user roles or access to membership upgrade functionality to trusted users only.
