Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-15420 is a CWE-22 directory traversal vulnerability in the Nexter Blocks WordPress plugin (versions up to 5.0.0). It allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level privileges or higher to manipulate the 'plus_name' parameter to delete arbitrary JS/CSS files on the server. This can disrupt the plugin or theme functionality by removing critical assets. The vulnerability is confirmed but no vendor advisory or patch is currently available.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with subscriber-level access or above can delete arbitrary JavaScript and CSS files on the server hosting the plugin. This can lead to denial of service or destruction of important plugin and theme files, potentially impairing website functionality and appearance. There is no indication of confidentiality or availability impact beyond file deletion.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict subscriber-level access carefully and monitor for suspicious activity related to file deletions. Avoid granting unnecessary privileges to users.
