Until a fix is applied, organizations should consider restricting SAML user privileges or monitoring for unusual team join activities related to SAML authentication.
Description
Mattermost versions 11.7.0, 11.8.0, 11.9.0, and 11.10.0 contain a vulnerability where the integrity of the SAML RelayState POST parameter is not verified. This flaw allows an authenticated SAML user to join any team, including invite-only teams, by forging the team_id or invite_id fields in the RelayState parameter.
