Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-16557 is an information exposure vulnerability (CWE-200) in the Nimble Page Builder WordPress plugin through version 3.3.8. The plugin does not enforce authorization checks when responding to an authenticated AJAX request for page-builder content. As a result, any authenticated user with at least Subscriber privileges can retrieve the content of arbitrary non-public posts and pages, potentially disclosing sensitive unpublished content.

Potential Impact

Any authenticated user with Subscriber or higher privileges can access the content of non-public posts and pages that they normally should not be authorized to view. This could lead to unintended disclosure of sensitive or confidential content that is in draft, pending, private, or scheduled status.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict user roles and permissions to minimize exposure, and monitor for updates from the plugin vendor regarding a patch.
