Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-17012 is an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the Accept PayPal & Stripe with Subscriptions for WooCommerce plugin through version 3.1.0. The flaw arises from the plugin's failure to verify that the PayPal account receiving payment corresponds to the merchant's configured account. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker can complete a WooCommerce order by paying the full amount to their own PayPal account, effectively bypassing payment to the merchant.

Potential Impact

This vulnerability allows attackers to fraudulently complete orders without paying the merchant, potentially causing financial loss and order fulfillment issues. The attacker can receive payment refunds or benefits by directing payments to their own PayPal account, undermining the integrity of the payment process.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, users should monitor for updates from the plugin vendor and avoid using affected versions in production environments. No official remediation or temporary fix information is currently provided.
