Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: stellarwp
Product: Kadence Blocks — Page Builder Toolkit for Gutenberg Editor

Description

The Kadence Blocks — Page Builder Toolkit for Gutenberg Editor WordPress plugin is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) via the Identity Block Inner Image Content. This affects all versions up to and including 3.7.8.1. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. Exploitation requires the block's urlTransparent attribute to be set to a non-empty value. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.4, indicating medium severity.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-18062 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Kadence Blocks — Page Builder Toolkit for Gutenberg Editor WordPress plugin. It occurs due to improper neutralization of input during web page generation (CWE-79). Authenticated users with contributor-level permissions or higher can inject malicious scripts into pages via the Identity Block Inner Image Content when the urlTransparent attribute is non-empty. These scripts execute whenever any user accesses the affected page. The vulnerability affects all plugin versions up to and including 3.7.8.1. No official patch or remediation has been confirmed as of the published date.

Potential Impact

An attacker with contributor-level or higher access can inject persistent malicious scripts into pages, which execute in the context of users viewing those pages. This can lead to unauthorized actions or data exposure consistent with stored XSS impacts. The vulnerability does not affect availability but impacts confidentiality and integrity. The attack requires authenticated access and specific block configuration (urlTransparent attribute non-empty).

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict contributor-level access to trusted users only and avoid setting the urlTransparent attribute to non-empty values in the Identity Block Inner Image Content. Monitor vendor communications for updates on patches or official mitigations.
