Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-18594 is an authorization bypass vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Advanced Contact form 7 DB WordPress plugin by vsourz1td. The plugin fails to properly verify that a user is authorized to perform CSV import actions, enabling authenticated users with custom-level access or above to import forged submission records into any Contact Form 7 form. This affects all versions up to and including 2.1.3. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 4.3 (medium severity), reflecting low complexity and low privileges required, with impact limited to integrity (no confidentiality or availability impact). No patch or official remediation is currently documented.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated access at custom-level or higher can bypass authorization controls to import forged CSV submission records into Contact Form 7 forms. This compromises data integrity by allowing unauthorized data injection but does not affect confidentiality or availability of the system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict user permissions to trusted roles only and monitor for unauthorized CSV import activities. Avoid granting custom-level or higher access to untrusted users.
