Description

A vulnerability in the Feast operator of Red Hat OpenShift AI allows a malicious tenant to inject arbitrary code into their feature repository. This code is executed by an automated process with elevated privileges, enabling the tenant to steal sensitive credentials and escalate privileges to gain administrative control over the Kubernetes cluster. The vulnerability arises because the feast apply CronJob runs user-supplied Python code with the feature-server's ServiceAccount permissions. Mitigations include configuring the Feast operator to use a dedicated, minimally-privileged ServiceAccount with restricted permissions and applying security contexts and network policies to limit exposure.
