Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-19117) in Delinea Secret Server (On-Prem) allows an attacker to bypass authentication by spoofing. Specifically, the attacker can register an attacker-controlled FIDO2 credential against a target user account and then authenticate as that user. The vulnerability affects on-premises versions 10.6.0, 11.8.0, 11.9.0, 12.0.0, and 12.1.0. There is no vendor advisory or patch information currently available, and no known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated attacker to fully compromise a user account by bypassing authentication controls, potentially leading to complete system compromise, data exposure, and disruption of availability. The CVSS 3.1 base score of 9.8 reflects critical impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability without requiring privileges or user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since no official fix or workaround is currently documented, organizations should monitor Delinea advisories closely and consider restricting access to on-premises Secret Server instances until a patch is available.
