Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves SSRF in the Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform App Builder, enabling unauthenticated attackers to obtain the Compute Engine default service account access token. The affected versions are those deployed between 2025-10-11 and before 2026-06-01. The issue was addressed with a patch released on 2026-06-01. Since this is a cloud service, remediation requires redeployment of apps with the updated version.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this SSRF vulnerability to leak the Compute Engine default service account access token, potentially allowing unauthorized access to Google Cloud resources associated with that service account. This could lead to privilege escalation or unauthorized actions within the affected cloud environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and was released on 2026-06-01. Users must redeploy their previously deployed apps to apply the fix. Since this is a cloud-hosted service, remediation is managed by Google Cloud, but user action is required to redeploy apps to ensure the patch is effective.
