AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to the fixed releases identified by the provided commit hashes. Since this is not a cloud service, manual patching is required. No alternative mitigations are indicated in the advisory.

Description

CVE-2026-23066 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rxrpc subsystem affecting version 4.11. It involves an unconditional requeue in the recvmsg() function that can corrupt the recvmsg queue, potentially causing use-after-free (UAF) or reference count underrun issues. The flaw occurs when rxrpc_recvmsg() requeues a call even if it is already queued, especially when MSG_DONTWAIT and MSG_PEEK flags are used. The issue has been fixed by ensuring calls are only requeued if not already on the queue and adjusting queue handling accordingly.
