AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied by updating to the fixed Linux kernel versions as provided by the vendor. The Ubuntu advisory USN-8162-1 details the fix and recommends rebooting the system after applying the update. Users should update their systems to the patched kernel versions to resolve this and other related vulnerabilities.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's irqchip/gic-v3-its driver on 32-bit ARM machines with CONFIG_ARM_LPAE could cause crashes due to truncation of physical memory addresses. This occurs because physical addresses above the 32-bit limit are stored in 32-bit variables, leading to incorrect address handling. The issue has been fixed by changing address variables to the correct 64-bit type. Multiple Linux kernel security issues, including this one, have been addressed in updated kernel versions.
