A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their distribution. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A null pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's RDMA/siw subsystem. The issue occurs when siw_get_hdr() returns -EINVAL before set_rx_fpdu_context(), causing qp->rx_fpdu to be NULL. The error path in siw_tcp_rx_data() then dereferences qp->rx_fpdu->more_ddp_segs without checking for NULL, leading to a potential kernel crash. This vulnerability has been addressed in updated Linux kernel versions.
