A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should upgrade to the fixed kernel version 6.13 with the applied patches. No additional mitigation is required as the fix addresses the root cause by ensuring safe pointer handling with RCU synchronization.

Description

CVE-2026-23275 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's io_uring subsystem affecting version 6.13. It involves a race condition during ring buffer resizing when certain task work flags (DEFER_TASKRUN | SETUP_TASKRUN) are used. The issue arises because the pointer to the ring buffer (ctx->rings) can become unstable during resizing, potentially leading to incorrect task work flag manipulation. The vulnerability has been fixed by introducing a second pointer (rings_rcu) protected by RCU to ensure safe access during resizing without adding locking overhead to the fast path.
