Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects HPE Aruba Networking Wireless Operating System (AOS) versions 10.4.0.0, 10.7.0.0, and 10.8.0.0. Due to insufficient input validation in a protocol-handling component, an unauthenticated attacker can send crafted network messages that cause a critical system process to terminate, leading to a denial-of-service condition. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 7.5, reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and impact limited to availability. No vendor patch or official remediation level has been disclosed as of the publication date.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation results in termination of a critical system process, causing denial of service. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication or user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider network-level protections such as filtering or rate-limiting traffic to affected services to reduce exposure.
