If you cannot patch yet, restrict pmm-admin privileges to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to the "Add data source" feature. Avoid exposing Percona PMM interfaces to untrusted networks or users.

Description

CVE-2026-25212 is a critical vulnerability in Percona PMM versions prior to 3.7. It arises because an internal database user retains superuser privileges, allowing an attacker with pmm-admin rights to exploit the "Add data source" feature. This exploitation enables breaking out of the database context to execute arbitrary shell commands on the underlying operating system. The vulnerability has a very high CVSS score of 9.9, indicating critical impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
