Description

CVE-2026-26197 is a medium severity vulnerability in the HDFGroup's hdf5 library involving an out-of-bounds read triggered by corrupted array datatype metadata in HDF5 files. The issue arises when the full size of the datatype, the number of elements, and the element size do not align, which can only occur if a file has been maliciously altered.
