Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in Google Android arises from the parseInterventionFromXml method within GameManagerService.java, where resource exhaustion can cause a permanent denial of service. The flaw allows an attacker with local privileges to exhaust resources without needing user interaction or elevated execution privileges, leading to a denial of service condition on the affected device.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation results in a local denial of service by exhausting system resources, causing the affected service or device to become unresponsive. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity, and no additional privileges are gained by the attacker.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, limit local access to trusted users and monitor for abnormal resource usage related to GameManagerService.
