Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable API endpoint by network controls or implement compensating controls such as authentication and authorization proxies if possible.
Description
CVE-2026-31216 is a critical vulnerability in the nexent v1.7.5.2 backend service's file management API. The DELETE /storage/{object_name:path} endpoint does not implement authentication, authorization, or input validation, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to delete arbitrary files from the underlying MinIO storage. Exploitation can cause significant data loss and denial of service. There is no confirmed patch or official remediation available at this time.
