AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been released in updated linux-hwe-edge kernel versions 6.8.0 and later. Users should update their systems to these fixed versions and reboot to apply the fix. Due to an ABI change in the kernel update, recompilation and reinstallation of third-party kernel modules may be necessary. Follow the vendor advisory instructions for proper update and module management.

Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: idxd: Fix memory leak when a wq is reset idxd_wq_disable_cleanup() which is called from the reset path for a workqueue, sets the wq type to NONE, which for other parts of the driver mean that the wq is empty (all its resources were released). Only set the wq type to NONE after its resources are released.
