AI-suggested
This vulnerability has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.12.80, 6.18.21, and 6.19.11. Users and administrators should update to these or later kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation is required once patched.
Description
CVE-2026-31513 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth L2CAP implementation. It involves a stack-out-of-bounds read triggered by a malformed Enhanced Credit Based Connection Request containing more than five Source Channel IDs (SCIDs). The flaw occurs because the code calculates a response length before validating the number of SCIDs, leading to a read beyond the allocated stack buffer and causing a kernel panic. This issue affects specific Linux kernel versions prior to fixed releases 6.12.80, 6.18.21, and 6.19.11.
