A fix for this vulnerability is available in the Linux kernel as indicated by multiple fixed commit versions. Users should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes the fix (commit hashes provided). No additional mitigation is required once the kernel is updated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's i915 graphics driver occurs when the set_default_submission pointer is dereferenced without being checked for null. This happens if the i915 driver firmware binaries are missing, leading to a NULL pointer dereference during system suspend. The issue has been fixed by adding a check to ensure the pointer is set before dereferencing.
